Alex Shannon is a writer, actor and producer based in Brooklyn. She’s a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and Atlantic Acting School.
Alex is a contributing writer for Couch Soup a variety entertainment site covering topics in gaming, entertainment, and pop culture.
Recent production credits include Desus & Mero (Showtime), Super Maximum Retro Show (Vice), and an upcoming independent feature film.
She continues to write, perform, and cuddle her roommate’s black cat like he’s her own.

Alex wrote, produced and hosted The Soundcasting Network’s Ridiculous People Podcast, a comedy podcast new movies and TV with Liv Senghor.
Alex wrote, produced and hosted True Crime Review Time, a comedy podcast reviewing true crime documentaries with Joan Glackin.
She was a regular contributor to artist collective Zine Soup and self-published her first book of poetry “I’ve Grown. I’m Growing.” through Chinatown Soup or digitally here.

Her play, Water Strider/Jesus Bug, was chosen runner-up of the Judith Barlow Prize national playwriting competition, for which she received a cash prize. It also got a full production in the NYC One-Act Festival by the Complete Theater Co.
